Milo 111111 ... Kopi, the newcomer

It was a dark rainy night and we're otw back home. As usual, a must 'pit-stop' for Amar at local 7-11. His keen eye spotted a tiny black furry ball at the shop's entrance. Upon getting back into the car, Amar kept saying how pitiful the kitten is.
Sudden heavy rainfall (again ...) saw the kitten trying to get into the shop. It was indeed a pitiful sight. Hubby & I looked at each while the children plead to take the kitten home. At last, hubby relented & I immediately rushed to the kitten's rescue.
An enquiry at the shop's counter confirmed the kitten was left there a day before. Asking for unused box, I put the poor kitten in it & took it home. The kids were a happy lot ... but I was already thinking about Milo's reaction to this new arrival. It was already late when we arrived home, so no time to introduce Kopi (the name given by Amar) to Milo.
The next day, saw Milo looking at the newcomer from afar while Kopi is being fed by Muaz. It is clear that Milo cannot accept the newcomer, not just yet. At the very sight of Kopi, Milo will hissed & snarled ... and Kopi will puffed up like a blowfish. This scene was repeated again and again until day 3.
Yesterday, Milo was sniffing at Kopi (still in cage), no more hissing just a small growl when the little one tried to get friendly ... a good sign. Today, I let Milo get near Kopi while I feed him outside his cage. Under my watchful eyes, of course. Kopi is OK with Milo, but the elder cat is still very cautious and still need time to get used having another cat, an 'adik' after a year being the only one!.
We are giving Milo extra attention so that he'll know we love him the same despite the newcomer. Can't wait for the day when the two accept each other. Milo is giving Kopi a short growl before leaving for his usual rounds! I'd like to think that as Milo's way reminding Kopi that ....

I'm the BOSS here, OK!!  (^"^)
