Just like mom ....

After I got married, each time we went back to Kelantan ... my mom would go extra miles to cook dishes that my hubby loves. We, her own flesh and blood, not forgetting my daddy, the very person that made her left her family in Penang and became true-blue Kelantanese from day one marrying my dad ... was no longer her numero-uno concern when cooking ... be it breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner! She'd be asking my hubby what he would like to eat. She wouldn't mind toiling over hot charcoal stove to prepare 'singgang tulang' or ' sup kaki lembu' ... my mom's specialty which hubby loves so much. Making or ordering hubby's favourite 'kueh' Yup! I really 'cemburu' back then  ...
I remember thinking to myself that I would not becomes like my mom in certain things  ... and I think I did succeed not becoming like her. Until today  ...
Yup! Early morning saw me toiling in the kitchen, cooking heavy breakfast for my family. The reason being, my son-in-law who prefer rice for breakfast!!! To this, my children mockingly jest me for cooking special breakfast fit for the king just because my son-in-law is here. They jokingly said usually I will prepare simple breakfast like pancakes, jemput2, sandwiches or at the most, fried meehoon. But rice, with chicken khorma, sambal tomato and cucumber salad for breakfast!!!
Haha! The very thing that I dread about my mom, is now the very thing that I enjoy doing. What can I say!!! I've become her carbon-copy in many ways without realising them .... and I bet, when I becomes Gradma (InsyaAllah soon  ...), hubby and I will swoon over them just like my parents ... and my friends ... who's facebook name has either GM or Granny infront, and forever posting pictures of their adorable and cute 'cucu's' ... SIGH!!! (envy, envy  ....)
